If you ever find yourself at a loose end on a weekend, you could do worse than check Bath City’s fixtures to see if they are at home. For not too much money you can have a really enjoyable few hours and experience some real culture. It really is an underrated day out, which deserves to to be more known about.
It is not just about the football though, which is probably just as well – don’t expect Man City standards here – it is more about the experience, culture and the social side of things. You can walk around the whole ground with a lovely pint of cider and take in the atmosphere, speaking to real locals with a West Country accent.
Another thing that needs to be recognised is that it is such a welcome atmosphere, even if you are not from Bath or have never supported them like myself, just a fan of football and feel like it is vital to a town to have a thriving football club.
It really should be shouted about more in my opinion, because Bath may be a rugby city, but there are plenty who prefer the round ball over the oval one.
